A Pilgrim's Guide to Mount Athos

Map of Mount Athos

© 2008 The Friends of Mount Athos

This map indicates the locations of Karyes, Daphni, and the monasteries, sketes, and geographical locations named in A Pilgrim's Guide to Mount Athos. It is not intended as a guide for travellers visiting Mt. Athos.

As noted in the Guide, "A number of tourist maps are available locally [in Greece, and on the Holy Mountain in the shops in Daphni and Karyes] but these are not recommended. The only good map of Athos is published in Austria by Reinhold Zwerger.

Members of the Friends of Mount Athos may purchase the Zwerger map at a reduced rate of 20 euros (£18 / $30) plus postage (£1.50 / $3.00) by contacting the Friends of Mount Athos. Non-members may purchase it directly direct from Reinhold Zwerger.

This map of Mount Athos is a temporary posting; it was reproduced by scanning from the printed version of A Pilgrim's Guide to Mount Athos. The result is not very satisfactory, and your patience is requested until we are able to produce a clearer copy.
