The Friends of Mount Athos

This year's AGM will be held on Saturday, 19 June at St Anne's College, Oxford. The programme will be as follows.

 

11.00      Coffee and registration in the Mary Ogilvie Theatre Foyer

 

11.30    Archimandrite Dr Cyril Hovorun, Chair of Theology at the Postgraduate School of the Russian Orthodox Church in Kiev, will speak on the subject

ATHOS AND THE BEGINNINGS OF MONASTICISM IN KIEVAN RUS

 

13.15         Buffet lunch

 

14.15   AGM: election of officers, approval of accounts, any other business (guests are welcome but may not vote)

14.45   14.45 Chris Paul, expedition leader, will give an illustrated presentation entitled

DARE TO FOLLOW: AN EXPEDITION TO RETRACE THE ESCAPE ROUTE OF SANDY THOMAS

 

15.45   14.45 Markos Kambanis, artist, will give an illustrated talk entitled

A GREEK ARTIST PAINTING ON MOUNT ATHOS

16.30      Tea

 

17.00      Vespers

 

There is no charge for attending the AGM but for the rest of the day's programme (including coffee and tea) the charge is £10.00 / €12 / $15 (students £5.00 / €6.00 / $7.50). The charge for lunch is £17.50 / €20.00 / $25.00.
