List of Footpath Descriptions

© The Friends of Mount Athos, 2007

The Friends of Mount Athos has undertaken an ongoing project of clearing and maintaining the old Athonite footpaths and reporting on their condition for the benefit of pilgrims. (See Mount Athos Footpaths and their Condition). As we continue our work on the footpaths, in order encourage their use by pilgrims, we are producing a series of Footpath Descriptions which we hope will be offered by the monasteries concerned. We expect that there will eventually be quite a number, initially we are projecting 30 such descriptions, but the number could well increase as the project goes on.

We also plan to make these Path Descriptions available in German and Greek, in addition to the present English versions. New Footpath Descriptions will be posted on this Web Site as they become available.
