This year’s Madingley Conference is devoted to the theme Holy Beauty: The Iconography of Mount Athos. Few subjects speak so directly to the heart of Athonite spirituality, and few offer such a rich meeting point between theology, history, artistic practice, and the lived experience of the Holy Mountain.
As always, the setting of Madingley Hall – with its hospitality, its beautiful chapel, and its atmosphere of quiet reflection – provides the ideal environment for such an exploration. I am delighted that we will once again gather for Orthodox services in the medieval parish church and enjoy the fellowship that has become a hallmark of these weekends.
